Full conventions are still very difficult to book, but we're ready to get together! So let's all fly to Sporty's!
This year we'll have a day trip to Batavia, Ohio, the home of Sporty's Pilot Shop. We have been to Sporty's a couple of times before (2007 and 2012) and it is always a great visit.
Plan to arrive in the morning. Find the CFO table to get your name tag from Debbie, then wander around and greet your fellow Cardinal Flyers, visit the Sporty's shop, or check out the on-field warbird museum (open Saturday 10-3).
At noon we will enjoy the Sporty's lunch of grilled hot dogs, metts and brats. We will also have a CFO lunch add-on, so you won't have to worry about a hot dog holding you for the whole day.
After lunch we will do a CFO Walkaround, where everyone gets to share a bit about their Cardinal. As usual, Keith and Paul may make certain observations about the airplanes we are looking at, in the spirit of continuous learning for us all.
Time permitting, after the walk-around we'll plan to pull a Cardinal or two into a Sporty's hangar and make some closer observations under the cowl.
If you wish to come early or stay after you can find local information at the Sporty's Visit Us page or in their information document. If you rent a car or hotel room be sure to ask for the Sporty's rate.
