Redcliffe, Australia CFO Flyin 2003

The Redcliffe Flyin in Redcliffe, Australia was attended by 20% of all Cardinals on the Australian Register & 50% of all the RG's.

Aircraft came from Kunnunurra Western Australia, Portland Victoria, Hoxton Park & Bankstown in New South Wales, Bowen & Bundaberg in Queensland in other words from virtually every State in Australia.

Transport was provided free of charge by way of a mini bus provided by GOANA Air SAFARIS & a local hire car was rented by one of our members for business use.

Most arrivals were on Friday & all were accommodated in the Waltzing Matilda Motel beside the beach on Moreton Bay. All met up for an informal dinner that night at the Motel.

Saturday was the big day for all as we gathered at the Redcliffe Airport just after 9 am & inspected each aircraft with each owner proudly pointing out various salient points.

At this stage Jim Mullett past President of the Cardinal Club of Australia arrived in his Twin Comanche as well as Bob Jeffery the past Secretary & their joint past experience & knowledge proved very valuable to all attendees. Both Jim & Bob send their best wishes to all their American friends.

Further Cardinals then flew in for the day & a very impressive line up could then be viewed.

We were then joined by members of the RAAF Association, Cadets & Instructors of the Australian Air Force Cadets, Cadets & Instructors of the Australian Air League, Instructors of the Redcliffe Aero Club & Mayor & Councilors of the Redcliffe City Council (over 100 people) for a BBQ lunch & further walk around.

That night we all gathered at Mammas Italian Restaurant & exchanged addresses & good fellowship was had by all. It was decided that we would have another Flyin at Taree in New South Wales probably in June 2004 as we all gained such a lot from meeting up.

The one regret was that we had no one attending from USA but hopefully that will be corrected next year.
