North Eastern Cardinal Fly-In

Bob Patterson put together a gathering at Plymouth MA on March 14th, 1999. He reports on the event below:

From: robert patterson (flyboy@star.net)
Subject: northeast fly-in

Well, despite threatening weather in MA on the 14th, a few of us made it to Plymouth for a very informal get together. Along with several members of EAA Chapter 673 (although I think I am the only who knew that!) I think 3 of us made it from Marlboro, Norwood, and New Haven, CT.

Unfortunately, cool weather, lowering ceilings, and the start of rain chased us out before we had much chance to ogle each others planes. I'm sure I saw a nice looking silvery/gray 177 taxi by as I was pulling in, but I didn't see where it disappeared to.

Fortunately, I was wearing my Cardinal shirt (from the Gullets) so the other Cardinal owners were able to pick me out as we waited to order food! Guess we'll have to work out some recognition scheme next time. At least I'll know who Kim and Frank are.

Chatham, MA, down on the cape, has been suggested for the next one, and maybe something bigger can happen at Plymouth as Rich Gronberg originally suggested when nicer weather will allow flights from farther out to make it here. Last summer there was an outfit offering open cockpit biplanes rides out of Chatham, which I would like to try sometime.
